My job is to not only educate the students on the topic but also to teach them that they have an eternal existence and that accepting Christ is the only way to spend eternity with Him. This is more important than making sure they understand every aspect of the lesson that is being taught because eternal security is far more important.

My responsibility is to teach my students that without God there is no eternity. We are His creation, we have an eternal soul, and our purpose is to know and serve Him.

The goal isn’t getting your students past today’s lesson. It isn’t about them being ready for next year. The goal isn’t even creating outstanding adults. The goal is guiding students to Christ in a way, that is so deeply rooted, that you reunite someday in Heaven.

Many verses make it clear that the acts of this life affect the next. Assuming my student is a believer, any influence I might have on him or her will affect their view of reality and relationship with Christ. Thus, being eternal creatures, they will eternally experience the “ripples” of this life.
