What does the lecturer mean when she says you are here to educate your students for eternity?

The professor stated that our purpose is to know God and serve God. God is eternal, we will glorify him forever, and we will live with him forever. If we giving our students knowledge, values, and truth that will draw them to walk with God more closely, then we are preparing them for eternity. The lessons we are giving them will be useful to them on this side and on the other side of heaven.

She means that we are influencing our students not only in their education but guiding them to Jesus. We are educating students on their spiritual life that will affect where they spend eternity.

Our influence will hopefully get the students ready for eternity.

My job is to not only educate the students on the topic but also to teach them that they have an eternal existence and that accepting Christ is the only way to spend eternity with Him. This is more important than making sure they understand every aspect of the lesson that is being taught because eternal security is far more important.

My responsibility is to teach my students that without God there is no eternity. We are His creation, we have an eternal soul, and our purpose is to know and serve Him.
