She means that we are eternal beings made in the image of God. We are here to serve a purpose here on earth and will one day spend eternity in heaven. We are not only preparing our student to walk through life as a Christian and have a relationship with Christ, but we are educating our students to understand and live a life beyond the flesh.

I was educated in a Christian school from K-12 and mostly don’t remember the lessons I had when I was a student, but I remember clearly the teachers whom I hated and those I cherished. A few of those I cherished, I remember precisely how they had touch my heart and how sometimes, even the teachers who were very strict can help reminding me of how as a child I needed to be discipline. The life lessons they taught me lasts forever, and I do hope that I too can become one of those teacher that touch students’ hearts. To lead the students to accept Christ as their personal savior and prepare them to live in Him not just for the next stage of their life. Afterall, we must remember that we only live in this world temporarily.

What we do in the classroom can stay in the heads of our students for the rest of their lives. Furthermore, if we teach them biblical truths, that can lead to the Holy Spirit opening their hearts and their salvation. Our souls are eternal; our students’ souls are eternal. How we act and what we say will be a witness. It’s up to us to determine whether that witness glorifies God or labels us as hypocrites.

We are teaching our students building-blocks for their future, which includes eternity.
