The positive side I think would be is knowing that you have brothers and sisters that care and a pastor that is interested in your spiritual growth. On the negative being called to preach in 2010. The opportunities didn’t come and it hurt as a struggle preacher. But today God has opened the door for me and I’m now a Pastor of the same church I was at struggling to get opportunities to preach the gospel.

In my past churches, I have had conflicting experiences. In my current church, I have a great community and teaching pastors who teach to the head and the heart which is good for spiritual growth. Negative experiences is from the people in the church who hurt others because they are broken.

The positive would be feeling God’s presence and being filled with the Holy Spirit, Being able to release the issues I may have or just giving God praise is such a beautiful experience. The negative is not every one that goes to church are sanctified or on the same Spirit temperament. Sometimes, that can be discouraging and cause some to stray.

I grew up where it was essential to go to church and serve others. Sometimes I didn’t understand the reason for our attendance and it led to legalistic feelings instead of desire to attend church.

I’ve had some negative experiences in churches where I was welcomed but maybe it wasn’t as friendly as it should have been. I also will have very positive attendance as I found a church that I can volunteer with and it allows me to grow in Christ.
