What has been your past experience in local church attendance? Explain the positive and the negative.

I have seen very wonderful examples of leadership and a working together as a body with Christ as the Head. i have also seen and experienced very hurtful situations where leadership relied on it’s own understanding and doctrines. it is true that we are an imperfect institution made up of imperfect people.

Church attendance has been slow to return to normal since COVID and streaming.
Those who attended regularly are most involved in various ways supporting the church.

I have always had a desire to attend church since I received Christ. When I have to miss church, I feel an emptiness that week. There are really no negatives in my experience with church attendance. I believe it is vital to the Christian faith and I get discouraged when others do not discipline themselves to attend and be involved with a local church.

Overall, i have always taken the approach that I am going to church to be in worship of my saviour and to be a help and a light to others who are there. Certainly, there are times that we all just need to sit back and be fed, but overall, as I have had the attitude that it is about Him and much less about me, i have found ways to be used appropriately and for His glory. Overall, i would say, most come to be fed.

The positive is when I walk through the door, I can feel the groaning inside of me, but the negative is the behavior of the members starts to fall off. This tells me that this church formed to worship Christ, but something happened, and everyone became lost. This happens in most churches I walk into. However, I have been to churches where the groaning of my spirit starts and keeps going until I start to feel regret of sin. Now, this tells me that this is an active church, and the Holy Spirit is working. On occasions, I have joined, but I am not an active member today.
