What has been your past experience in local church attendance? Explain the positive and the negative.

Church attendance continues to be one the most rewarding experiences of my spiritual life. The fellowship, learning, and community of celebration cannot be duplicated. There is always room for improvement.

I enjoy going to church, but more importantly enjoy connecting with other believers there. I’ve been loosely involved in a church split, but overall, I’ve had a great experience with the “church”.

I used to got to a church where kids were seen and not heard, and your clothing and rules and traditions seemed more important than loving Christ. My son had mental health issues and he would act out in church and we would get frowned at and get ‘talking to’s’ after service. I’d end up taking him downstairs to sit in the hallway while I cried. I was recommended another church by a friend who said my son would be accepted there. We went, and sure enough, he managed to get ahold of a microphone during the sermon, ran through the church yelling, “HI HI HI” into the mic. The pastor said, “Cut that mic” and just kept on preaching. 5 men took my son downstairs and prayed with him and just hung out with him so that I could be in service. I ended up in my van crying because I had never felt so loved and accepted by a church before. I had never been good enough, now here I was, still not good enough, but loved anyway. 18 years later, we are still at the church and we are still loved and accepted and missed when we aren’t there.

It has been always a wonderful experience to participate in the local church and have been immensely blessed with these fellowship opportunities.
Whenever possible I try to support and participate in local community engagement in a small manner either in youth and community services.

I have been to church more times than not in my lifetime. I am easily distracted and currently working on improving my focus
