My experience in local church attendance has been quite varied. I’ve found a strong sense of community and belonging. Being part of a congregation allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals, share in worship, and participate in meaningful activities. I appreciated the support during challenging times, whether through prayer or practical help from fellow members. The teachings and sermons often provided inspiration and guidance that helped me navigate life’s challenges. On the flip side, there were moments of disappointment. Sometimes, I encountered conflicts or disagreements within the church community, which could be disheartening. Additionally, I felt that certain services or activities didn’t resonate with everyone, leading to feelings of exclusion. At times, the focus on tradition overshadowed the need for inclusivity and adaptability to modern challenges. My experiences shaped my understanding of the church as a place of both growth and complexity.

My experience has been overall good, dare I say amazing at times. However, that may very well be due to the fact that I am not one to be easily distracted. I have seen and been very close to may positive as well as negative things, but I have always kept in mind that the journey is not the same for everyone. I can understand the needs, levels, hurts and joys of many without having to impose. I encourage others who have this outlook to share it and others so that they too can experience church in a new way. a way that is freeing.

I love my church but i feel like the “Church” has gotten too comfortable and it has become more about us or my needs as oppossed to reaching out to others.

Experience has been good overall and has helped me find opportunity to learn, make supportive friends and grow through the teaching of the word and some conflicts and not always pleasant encounters with other Christians. Through these I have also learned self-awareness, tolerance, how to apologise and receive apology.
