Positive is the people who have discipled me and encouraged my faith. Negative is people thinking that church attendance in itself will check the box for their spiritual duties that week and lead to cultural Christians who do not accurately represent Christ in the world.

I love going to church and actively serving in my church. We recently had a divide and a large portion of our church followed the pastor (who was let go) across town. It has created division in our community and within our own small group as some have left to go to his church. We are working together to recognize that location does not matter, but serving the same God does.

I grew up in the church as I was a pastor’s kid. The positives outweigh the negative as a member of a church group. The positive is the iron sharpening iron, in so many ways, amongst believers. The negative is the opportunity for group think in the wrong direction, the direction of people rather than that of Jesus, who is the Head.

I have attended and been involved in church most of my life. I have found that going to church and worshipping the Lord together with other believers is essential for me to remain healthy and grow in my walk with Jesus. The negatives are that the church is made up of imperfect, broken, sinful people. The positives are that God uses these people to minister to others!
