What helps you to overcome that obstacle?

My prayers are not just in one sitting. They go on throughout the day. The ambulance passes by and I pray, The firetruck passes by and I pray. A negative thought arises and I pray . I just talk to God. When prayer requests come my way, I pray. I keep consistent communication with my Heavenly Father.

I play in my heads songs like “make me a channel of your Peace” how great is our God and the 23 Psalm to put me in focus .

I use the following methods to overcome the obstacle to prayer:
a) Pray at the fixed time, in the morning before you start work, and in the evening before you go to bed.
b) Confess your sins regularly. Do not allow them to accumulate and “clog up” your channel of communication with God.
c) Pray on a group. The more you associate closely with prayerful people, the more you will want to pray.
d) Remember that God is a loving Father who wants to give good things to his children. We must believe that every unanswered prayer has a reason for it ,and God knows best. -
I pray when I am alone – if I am jogging or walking my dog. I get lots of time to think about what to say and I feel this works well

In the middle of the competing thought, I have to turn that into prayer and ask the Lord to help me refocus and center in on Him.
