What helps you overcome obstacles in prayer?
I feel that a strong focus on intentionality has been extremely helpful in trying to overcome some of the obstacles common to prayer. Some of the approaches I have utilized to help with prayer include things like carving out specific times in the day exclusively for prayer – I pray in the morning, at lunch, and before bed – and running a timer during these times to make sure I am dedicating an adequate amount of time.
Keeping a running list of people to pray for, as well as thinking on scriptures I have memorized, has been helpful in fueling my prayers and also keeping me focused.
Lastly, I have been trying to bring God into my life, focus my mind on Him, by doing a lot of “micro-prayers” all throughout my day. For instance, if I get distracted at work, praying that the Lord will get me back on track, or if I am excited about something, praising the Lord in prayer for the excitement.
These steps have been really effective in fueling my prayer life – Of course, there is always so much more work to be done to fight that obstacles that attack us.

God’s encouraging Words of His promises helps me to overcome obstacle in prayer.

The Bible helps me to enrich my prayer life when my mind wanders or when I don’t find the focus to pray. I find the book of Psalms such a good starter for my prayers but I try to “collect” different passages along my readings.

I must understand that time with God and developing that relationship is the most important thing I can do. It takes time, but I see that when I take that time with God, He will give more time to do other things that I must or want to do.

To overcome that obstacle needs faith. Keep reminding myself the goodness of God. He loves me and needs me to trust him.
