What helps you to overcome that obstacle?

I am becoming better to plan for back-up with life’s demands while I am spending time with the Lord, so they can handle life’s interruptions so I can devote myself fully to God. I am also learning to plan shorter and more frequent times with the Lord. It is less likely that I will be interrupted in the middle of a 15 minute prayer and Bible study time, and it is easier to delay a short time if one of life’s demands runs longer. And if I should lose one of those times during the day, at least not all is lost.

I think setting my phone to the side and being intentional when I’m sitting down to do a study or pray. I think I have to remind myself that all the other things can wait and when I give into my distractions, I usually end up discouraged and wishing I spent more time in the Word or in prayer.

Overcoming obstacles often require the help of the Holy Spirit. I know that I cannot do things in my own power; all that I do requires His involvement. I must lean in and trust God to help me do the things I can’t do.

I find myself losing my thoughts in prayer, or my mind wanders. I simply come back and ask God for guidance and strength so that I can focus on only the conversation I have with Him.

Turning things over to Jesus. Trusting that His will will be done.
