It is genuine faith that leads us to repentance and believing in Jesus as our Savior, sent by God the Father to save the world from sin and death. It is confessing with out mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in hearts that He is our Redeemer and that through His work on the cross we are made righteous with God the Father. Saving faith is faith that produces the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

He who knew no sin, because one single sin would have disqualified him, became sin so that our sin could be redeemed and thereby forgiven of our sin by a holy and just God.

It is a belief that Christ suffered a substitutionary death to pay the penance for my sins and is my only means of salvation. It is my beliefs not my works that really count. Good deeds are the results of salvation and not a means to achieve it.
