What is the difference between leadership and management?

Management is the order and organization needed to get a task done or achieve a short term goal. Leadership is the ongoing pursuit of accomplishing all that needs to be done the best possible way it can be done leading to more internal and personal growth and setting higher goals to pursue.

Leaders take people to a destination, managers keep things going where they are at.

Leadership helps lead the way, management tells you what to do

Leaders lead and managers manage. Leadership is taking someone somewhere when they do not know how to get there. It is leading people to a better place. Management helps us where we are at. Managing is not taking someone or a group of people to a better place, it is just helping them where they are. I would say that leadership is more vision driven.

Leadership is vision, it helps people get to somewhere new. Management is just keeping an eye on things- glorified babysitting.
