Leadership is where the leader has led others in such a way that the people and the leader are actually better for having been through the process whereas management is leads others though the steps to get there without fully understanding why.

In management you delegate assignments usually for a job that someone already knows how to do, so that a full work can be completed. Where leadership is taking someone from something they do not know or somewhere they have not been and teaching them how to do that thing or get to that place. Leadership is moving someone from where they are and what they know to another level learning something new and becoming a better rounded person in that particular field.

Leadership is leading others to where they “ain’t”, it is allowing people to grow and learn and then to be led again, eventually resulting in becoming leaders themselves. Management is merely having people do what you bid them to do, your way or the highway.

Leadership takes us from where we are to where we need to go. Management just tells us what to do

A leader leads others to somewhere, goes right along with and teaches or grows others.
Managers merely manage situations and oversee operations and people.
