Leadership is about motivating people to comprehend and believe in the vision for themselves personally and as a group and to work with you on achieving a goal. While management is more about administering work or a vision ensuring the day-to-day activities are getting done as they should.

Management tells you where to go. Leaders help take you there.

management helps people do what they do where they are, leadership takes people to new places.

[Good] Leadership takes people to a destination that is better than where they were that they could not have reached on their own. I appreciate Dr. Sid’s description of management as making sure we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing where we are.
