leaders take you somewhere, managers keep things going where they are

Management makes sure people do what they need to do. Leadership lead people to better place, in order to accomplish what they do better.

Leadership is taking people somewhere they are not. Management is making sure people doing what they are supposed to be doing where they are.

Leadership takes us someplace new, management helps us do what we’re supposed to do when we are in that place. A leader is like a pioneer taking people to a new frontier, while a manager is like one who settles the new land.

Management helps us do out job. Leadership takes us somewhere. Leaders lead and do what leaders do. Managers are in an office helping us get our assignment done but not taking us to a different place.
