Leadership is bringing people somewhere, management is how to act while we are where we are.

The big difference is the management looks at accomplishing tasks & leadership is stewarding relationships to accomplish an end goal.

Leaders are visionaries and managers help to implement the leader’s vision. Leaders plan and managers execute their plans. Leadership directs management.
-
Leadership takes us from one place to another whereas management allows us to function where we are. Really in management, there is not movement.
-
Leaders take people where they have not been yet. Managers oversee the work/place where people are now.
