The difference is that universal church is the body of Christ world wide while local church is the local congregation that meet together to worship and pray.
-
Universal Church refers to the body of Christ as a whole, encompassing all believers worldwide. While Local Church refers to a specific, visible group of believers in a particular location.

The universal church is the global community of believers whereas the local church is a community of believers living out the gospel together.

The universal church encompasses all true believers in Jesus Christ throughout history, regardless of their location, denomination, or cultural background. It’s a spiritual entity transcending time and space. Jesus Christ is the sole head of the universal church. Composed solely of individuals who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and are considered saved. Primarily focused on the spiritual reality of believers being united in Christ and participating in God’s eternal purposes. The local church refers to a specific congregation of believers gathered in a particular location. This could be a specific denomination, church building, or community group.

Universal is the whole body of the church all over the earth. Local church is more to membership and denominational.
