The Ten Commandments: THE FIRST COMMANDMENT:
1. You shall have no other gods before me. In other words: Put God first. A “god” may be anything a person allows to rule his daily life. Examples of this are other religions, superstitions, horoscopes, bad habits or addictions, friends, heroes, or a desire for money, fame, or power. For the Christian life we put our faith in God only. We put our trust in God only. To have fear, love, and trust in God above all things. The first commandment simply means we should fear, love, and trust God above all things, above all else, that God has made. Trust and faith determines the core of our identity that determines who you are and your actions in relationship to others.
