What is the significance of Jesus Christ’s claim to be God?

I think it is significant because Jesus now knows how we are as humans and can more efficiently stand for us before the Father. I think He now knows more about what humans are like but we also, by reading the Bible, know more about God through Him and His teachings.

It is significant because Jesus was there in the beginning of creation, He is God who has revealed himself to us, we can know who God is through His Son ,

His claim to be the Messiah was the proof that He was the one foretold of in the Old Testament and he was the fulfillment of the OT prophesies.

This is tremendous as it fulfills what the prophets professed in the old testament. It is the biggest piece to showing He is the one true Messiah!

The New Testament message is based on the fact that Jesus is God. Only God could do the miracles that Jesus did. Only God has power over death and sin.
