My favorite prayer from the Bible is Psalm 23. Hearing it led to my trusting Jesus as my Savior. I was like a lost sheep that the good Shepherd rescued and restores.

Psalm 23 is my “go to” prayer.
It took me about two weeks to really memorize this Psalm.
I heard a tv preacher suggest that if you had a hard time falling asleep, start reciting this Psalm.
An amazing thing started to happen.
I soon started to reflect on each sentence.
I started to visualize Jesus as a shepherd.
I started to imagine the green pasture, the still waters.
Even now I turn to this Psalm if I’m having trouble falling asleep.
9 times out of 10, I barely get to the end before I drift off.
And, if I do make it through to the end, I start over.
I think the most I’ve repeated it through was 3 times. -
Probably one of the top ones is Psalm 51, part of today lesson reading. I find myself praying/thinking/feeling something from this Psalm whenever I pray, because I need to be cleaned often.
There are others; Numbers 6:24-26 is another that comes immediately to my mind. -
Colossians 1:10-11:
“Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all perseverance and patience; with joy.”
