My favorite prayer is Psalm 23. It speaks to so many seasons of my walk with the Lord.
The Lord is MY Shepherd so I will not want for anything.
He causes me to rest peacefully, and soothes me with the lullaby of calm waters
So that I am refreshed and my spirit renewed.
He guides and empowers me to live by faith for the glory of His name.There are moments when darkness and despair surround me, but
I am not afraid, simply because
My Shepherd is with me;
His rod of direction and staff of correction keep me on a lighted path,
Knowing this gives me peace.My Shepherd honors me, even in the face of my enemies;
Furthermore, He divinely inspires my thinking, and blesses the work that grows from it;
I am overwhelmed by His goodness and generosity!Therefore, I believe and trust in His goodness and mercy for the rest of my life, and
Will serve the Lord to further His Kingdom,
Forever. -
Isaiah 41:10
“Don’t be afraid, because I’m with you; don’t be anxious, because I am your God. I keep on strengthening you; I’m truly helping you. I’m surely upholding you with my victorious right hand.”
Sometimes all I get out is “Be anxious for nothing” when I feel waves of panic. I thank God for reminding me not to fear since He keeps helping me and strengthening me and hanging on to me above the fray. -
