Our school emphasizes mission work throughout the year. We have done work in local food banks and nursing homes. We also try to do an outreach that is more global like Destiny Rescue and Right to Life. It really opens the eyes of the students to realize that there is a world around them that is in need and often times hurting that however small they can make an impact.

Our students have been involved in mission work with clothing closets, Crisis Pregnancies, food banks, and addiction ministries.
I think this has helped them to gain an appreciation for Jesus’ call to help the least of these. It has also helped them to appreciate the blessings that they have.

They are involved in raising money to support those who displaced by crisis in part of Jos, Nigeria in Africa. Some times they will go visit orphanage home and have fellowship with them and give them donations and food stuffs. They always come back sharing how blessed the orphans were.

There are several local mission organizations we partner with throughout the school year to take students on one day service field trips. The impact is very strong on our students. They learn a love for serving others and recognize how God has blessed them and how they should use those blessings to help others.

Some of the missions that take place in our school have been raking leaves for elderly members of the community, bringing in food for food pantries, at Christmas we do Operation Christmas Child, we have an assembly for Veteran’s Day. After listening to this lesson, I love the idea of having a Valentine’s Lunch for the widows in the church. I could have my students make cards, sing a few songs, and maybe play a game or two with the widows.
