What kind of mission work have your students been involved in? How have you seen it impact them?

Our elementary school used to collect and donate various items and money to visit different homes during Christmas. Some of our younger students would even plead with their parents to buy items specifically for this cause, eager to bless other children. I recall one year when a student chose to forgo a traditional birthday party with friends and instead asked his parents if they could use the occasion to feed the children in a home.

Last year, my 4th-grade students demonstrated incredible compassion and initiative by raising funds through chores at home and work for neighbors. Their efforts provided lunch for approximately 250 students from the local school next door. Additionally, they extended their kindness by inviting their nannies and drivers to a special lunch date.
It was inspiring to witness them wholeheartedly embrace the values of service, empathy, and joy, creating meaningful connections and making a positive impact on their community.

None, but I nurture them to celebrate each other’s wins and also show empathy when a friend struggles. They also learn to be thankful of the blessings they are surrounded with.

My students have been involved in two meaningful mission work projects that have left a lasting impact on them.
Firstly, they donated materials and books for orphans and children in Motherless Babies’ Homes. This experience taught them the value of giving and sharing with those less fortunate. They learned that even small acts of kindness can bring joy and hope to others.
Secondly, during the Christmas period, we visited a local deaf school to distribute gifts and sing Christmas songs using sign language and gestures. This experience was particularly poignant as it allowed my students to connect with children who communicate differently. They learned to appreciate the beauty of sign language and the importance of inclusivity.

We raise funds for various ministries, but I would like to find a way to integrate more direct involvement with local ministries, so the students can see the work in action.
