Many cultures have different social customs and ways of interacting with each other that have migrated from their faith and have been adopted into their secular culture. Knowing these faith/social customs could help in social situations from someone of a different belief system.

One benefit to me would be being able to understand the reasoning behind someone else’s faith and how it relates to your own allowing you to have a more nuanced perspective of the people around you.

It would help when witnessing to people of other faiths. It would help us understand where they’re coming from, and how to explain how our faith differs from theirs.

As a 56M in the military, it is important to have a knowledge of other religions to help accommodate the soldiers within the taskforce. It is also important to understand different faith backgrounds because they have a major impact on the cultural customs and law in other countries.
