Romans 5:8 caught my attention today because I just had a conversation with a student last week who asked how he could be a Christian if he feels hatred toward some of his classmates because of how they have treated him. I told him that when he receives the Holy Spirit, it will begin to transform his heart and give him a desire to love them. I want to memorize Romans 5:8 because I think it would have helped for me to quote that scripture, that while we are STILL sinners, Christ died for us. We do not have to clean ourselves up first. We receive Christ and then he HELPS us become more like him.

In the Book of Daniel, we see a man who faced many challenges, but he never lost faith in God. Instead, he turned to prayer and wisdom from above, patiently waiting for answers. Whether it was working with his fellow Jews or answering King Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams or visions, he earned a position few ever obtain through his steady and faithful belief in God. Through his example, we are reminded that when we seek God’s guidance with patience and willingness, great things can happen in our lives.

I gathered new insights on how the Biblical stories and scriptures are related to where we are today and how we got here. The Scriptures also give us the guidance on what to focus on and how in each generation God chose certain leader’s to lead God’s people close to him. I also learned insights on a personal level on power of testimony and how our own stories provide value to others.

That it is God’s desire for His children to be saved. The sacrifice has already been made, we just need to accept it.

That in order to actually grow and be fruitful in my walk, and just not be a receiver of Christ an salvation, gathering with other believers and practicing what I preach, so to speak, is where my true understanding and growth in God’s word will take place.
