What new insights did you learn from a careful review of the Scripture readings cited in this lesson?

I am beginning to truly understand that all of my self efforts to do everything right is still not enough. In and of my own doing, I can never be right before God. Isaiah makes that clear, and I never stopped to really think about that.

Totally agree, I need that reminder daily! That no matter how hard I ‘try’, it’s all based on His love, grace, and mercy!

There is so much assurance for us as Christians that even though we fall short and deserve death, there is that hope and promise of eternal life. It is also a great reminder that when we are in the Word, we equip ourselves with the power of the Holy Spirit and the defenses against temptation.

Jesus’ personal conversation with Nicodemus has given me a deeper understanding of being born again, even though I already knew the concept. However, being born again emphasizes a new spiritual life. We are all born physically alive but are spiritually dead due to sin, which traces back to the original sin of Adam and Eve. Believing in Jesus Christ as my personal savior and receiving Him in my heart is the true essence of being born again. Even though I am physically alive, I have been given a new life as my spirit has come alive. This happened when I received the Holy Spirit in my heart, marking the start of my new journey with God.

I’m not done reading about Daniel but so far I can see that He has characteristics that encourage me; such as courage , confidence and a life of faith
