What obstacle do you struggle with when it comes to prayer? What helps you overcome that obstacle?

Perhaps discouragement over previous prayers… but not in the normal way.
God has previously answered my prayers, completely and fully, however in unexpected ways that left me with life-altering and lifelong challenges. Now, I am scared to pray for anything I want for myself in case God generously answers them, as He has before. I’d hate to face any more consequences.
I hadn’t considered anything to overcome this obstacle. I will now dive deeper into scripture.

Since I became the mother of two little kids my biggest struggle is to find time. I have been working on turning part of my time with my kids into prayer time or any worry and constant thoughts that comes to me.

For me it is clearly sin, holding on to things that I refuse to let go. Then the unworthiness comes in and I push back prayer until it is too late.

My biggest obstacle is I like being on the move and being productive, so it’s challenging to sit down in one place to talk with God. If I’m by myself, I’ll often to talk to God about what’s going on in my life or praise Him for what He’s done. However, I hardly ever dedicate specific time to God which I want to change.

I have struggled with many obstacles during prayer but the most common one is distractions. My mind will start to wader or my pets will interrupt me and I have a hard time coming back to focus. The only solution I have found that works for me, is when I feel my mind wandering or my pet comes to me, I very firmly mentally tell myself “no” and get right back to prayer.
