Having visual items that students can see or hold helps them to have a deeper understanding. I also allow discussion questions and times for the students to discuss together.

We do a lot of question and answer time. I ask the students deep questions and that opens the door for some really great discussion. We also do T charts on the board for various topics. I put the topic on the top and we write down a secular view to the topic on the left and then a Christian worldview to the topic on the right. I think these are effective because it helps the students to really think about topics beyond what their opinion is, but what does the Bible say.

I am not in a Christian Education setting at this time. However, when I was we took time with Biblical concepts and did not rush through them because the academics were of greater importance. We practiced them within the context of lesson materials, we practiced them in service projects and programming that we would put together for families. I would remind students if I saw them exemplifying a Biblical concept that we previously taught being displayed in their own life. I would use music, stories (book and interactive means), drama and anything that would allow students to have their spirit and senses immersed.

I am an avid proponent of incorporating the different styles of learning in everything we do. I try to have the students experience the material in as many senses as possible.

I try to draw out discussions which lend themselves most obviously to clear biblical integration. many times I find it more effective to watch for “clues” that student are seeing the connection, then go from there.
