What spiritual gifts do you think you may have? If you are not sure, what steps might you take to find out?

Many years ago, I served on the worship team and was in charge of special music. I taught school for a brief time and enjoyed it. I have always liked administration or organizational duties. I worked as a director for an educational outreach program for the University and I am now retired. So, I am not sure where to serve. I am praying and asking God to show me where I can be of service. I am also looking for where the church may need help that I can offer.

I think I have the gifts of administration, mercy and compassion, and providing financial assistance. I have lent my support in past churches as a member of the safety committee – writing/formulating church safety policies; serving on the church’s construction committee as secretary as well as running the project. I have also been a lay chaplain at 3 private retirement communities as well as one hospital retirement community – visiting residents with a listening/caring ear; and I have offered my financial support to several ministries and Feeding America on a monthly basis. In addition to this, I write letters to 75 Veterans at a Veterans Administration Medical Center and I write letters to prisoners across the state of PA.

I believe one of my spiritual gifts is creative writing, whether by blogging about aspects of spiritual growth and healing or writing novels of faith that teach and encourage believers.
