What standards exist in your school?

Most of our standards are based upon Abeka or Bob Jones University curriculum pacing guides. I’ve tried looking at our state’s education website and couldn’t even find set standards of learning on their page as I used to could in my last state of VA. We also require that students take a Bible course every year they attend our school as well as make a 70 or higher in a course before being allowed to move on to the next course the following year.

Our school is a classical school, emphasizing most aspects of the traditional system.

I used to work at an international school where they use both IB as international curriculum and added the requirements for the national curriculum set by the government as well particularly for moral studies and language. The students have to follow national exams at the end of Grade 6, 9 and 12. The school also added Biblical Studies, community service, attendance and behavior components as criteria for students to graduate.

There are state standards applied at my school, but also administrators have added standards above those state standards.
