What standards exist in your school?

Since I came from public school, and saw all teachers and myself working from state standards, I would check back and forth to see “where we were” in terms of keeping up with public schools. It seemed we were not keeping up, but were far behind. Maybe my mindset was backwards, but I could see a clear difference. Some explained it by saying that many students came to our school from the public schools because they were struggling. And, they came with tuition paid by the state because the public school from which they came was in a failing status itself.
