Which distinctive of a biblical worldview would be least compelling to your non-Christian friends? How might you answer objections on this matter?

In my experience the question I have heard the most is “how can God who is supposed to be so loving sacrifice his only son”. Answering the questions would require spending a lot time with my non-Christian friend. I think this question could be best answered by understanding the backstory of Scripture. God knew from the very beginning that man would sin and sin separates us from God. God wanted a relationship with us and in order to have that relationship with us He had to get rid of sin by sending his son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins. Out of his love for us God was sacrificing his son for us. Since Jesus is God, God was basically giving up his own life for ours. That’s the greatest love ever.

That Christ is 3 in one. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. this can be difficult to understand.

God revealing himself through His Word. I would answer objections by challenging them to study it together and talking about it.

Very few people are 100% and consistently atheistic; they may be agnostic at best. Therefore, I think very few non-Christians will be repelled by the distinctives of physical and spiritual reality, personal identity and worth, meaning of life and the future, as propounded by the biblical worldview. What they find least compelling, even find repulsive, may be the idea that special divine revelation of spiritual reality is only found in the Bible. I could explain to them that I believe there are facets of truth in whatever religion or philosophy they subscribe to, but in the final analysis, I still have to say I believe God has fully revealed Himself in the inspired Bible. I might attempt to share what I learned about the authenticity of the Bible in the basic Christian apologetics course.

In our (that is Christians) biblical worldview, I think the least compelling distinctive “today” is the idea that our identification is in Christ and not any multiple combination of world identities (i.e. gender, political party, sports team, iPhone/Android, Nike/New Balance, facial hair/clean shaven, etc…). To get non-believers to come to a point where they can know they are allowed to have 1 I.D. versus so many others that they didn’t know they didn’t know they had, is a daunting task to help them get to. We answer any objection to the distinctive “Christ Alone as our Sole/Soul Identity” by showing them that we don’t care about any other identities or postures.
