I think eternal separation from God, or Hell is huge stumbling block. I would agree that it might also be something I wrestle with, but that I have found a God of justice and judgement is what we deeply crave. Would they find it fair for most horrible people in history to be let off the hook and face no repercussions?

It depends on their belief at this point. For instance, they may have trouble if they are a pluralist by preaching to them the truth of salvation. Only one way to salvation would be difficult for them to comprehend.

The Bible is God’s word. It is living and breathing and has been passed on from generation to generation for the reason of evidence that Jesus Christ was who He said He was and that He came to save the world of our sin dept. Also, the more we read scripture, the more God opens our mind to the understanding of the scriptures.

Pre-suppositional apologetics. Lots of my friends say “the Bible was written by man” so arguing the Bible with the Bible has not shown effective. So, how I will approach objections on this matter is by arguing the prophecies, outside sources, and debunk the objections to the resurrection.

I think the least compelling part of a biblical worldview is the nature of sin in our lives and the prospect of eternal damnation. I think they struggle with the idea that a good God can allow suffering today & condemn people to eternal death. My attempt to answer their objections to this is for them to look at our world and the very evidence we can see of the effects of sin on our lives. And to explain how all sin requires punishment. But that God didn’t leave us there…instead He made a way for absolution through the person of Jesus, His very own Son. And that it’s simply by receiving the payment Jesus made on our behalf that we can be freed from the punishment of eternal death and instead experience eternal life.

Many people seem to really struggle with why a loving God “let’s bad things happen to good people.” But in God’s eyes we all fall short of HIs glory, so on our own none of us are worthy of being in his presence. So he sent his son Jesus to bridge that gap.
