The idea that the devil caused humanity to fall into sin and that we are subject to sin and death because of it. They may feel that such a state of affairs is unjust. I might answer by saying that it is reasonable for us to bear some responsibility for our sins and errors regardless of mitigating factors, as such is the case in our courts of law.

“The Bible and the Future” because it requires us to take responsibility for our actions on this earth and surrender them to a spiritual being. We give up our “right” to live for ourselves and people just don’t want to admit that they need a Savior. On this topic, someone recently told a friend of mine that “Jesus accepts him, so why does he have to accept Jesus back?” This is obviously poor theology on a couple levels, but I am finding this apathetic approach to salvation more and more common.

Those that I know that reject the existence of God tend to reject any notion of morality that comes from God. Therefore, the least compelling thing for the non-Christians I know is the idea that they have done anything objectively sinful in their lives and, furthermore, that the sin (that they don’t think they committed) will somehow determine what happens to them when they die especially when they reject any notion of an afterlife at all.

From their perspective, “Why do I need to accept forgiveness for breaking rules that I never agreed to follow from a God that may or may not exist?”

Most of them believe that they only need to do good works to get to heaven. The fact that they will be judged and their sin of rejecting Jesus will send them to hell is hard for them to believe in a loving God
