I do not judge my non christian friends. Most of the time when I talk to my non christian friends I give then complaints about what they are wearing. In my apartment I pray for my non christian friends.

I think the distinctive of a biblical worldview that is least compelling to non-Christians is that of eternity after death, and more specifically hell. I might help a non-Christian understand this by considering the concept of justice. Justice is good. Everyone longs for the wrongs that are done to be paid for and made right. God has identified Himself as the supreme judge over all humanity. He will execute His justice perfectly and absolutely. Justice for our crimes will either be paid by Jesus Christ on our behalf, or we will pay them through the penalty of condemnation in hell.

Well, I would have to answer the same as the first question. It varies for each non-believing friend. It seems to depend on where they are with life, combined with past and current experiences.

Non-Christians find it difficult to believe the Bible is the word of God. They don’t understand the concept of the Holy Spirit. They struggle with things that happen on earth for evil and sickness. It is hard to explain free will. I lead them towards the word in small doses. Many times what they see as “unfair” is a misunderstanding of the written word. Separation from God is a human choice. God wants all of us in His world.

In my experience, the reality of “hell” or the eternal separation from God simply based on a decision to follow Jesus or not is the least compelling distinctive among non-Christians because it seems unfair.

I think the best way to go about it is by dialoging about what “fairness” is and if it is true that God created this world, that sin is anything we think say or do that goes against God and His commands and completely breaks our relationship with God as a result of us committing it, then we have to believe that logically, the fair decision – the “rightly deserved” reality – would be eternal separation from Him.

Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are actually getting what we don’t deserve. We’re getting mercy and grace and redemption through Jesus.
