I believe fully understanding the Trinity would be difficult. It is sometimes challenging for a strong Christian to understand the theological difference between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Three in one.

I think for a non-believer it isn’t as compelling before regeneration to rejoice in the relationship with a loving God because they don’t know Him and so they haven’t tasted the goodness. It’s also certainly not compelling that Christ calls his disciples to lay down their lives for the sake of the gospel. How could that be good news?

The least compelling (in my experience) outside of doctrinal confusion is the idea of eternal punishment and repentance. Because of our sinful nature, we want to follow our own desires (and idols). The chief sin is idolatry. Our passions are now disordered and we seek the things of God instead of God Himself. When we call people to crucify the flesh and die daily, this in itself is a spiritual miracle and proof of regeneration of the Holy Spirit. Hell is real and damnation very serious. Without judgement, grace cannot be as serious. this is why it is Amazing grace!

The least compelling distinctive would be the doctrine of the Trinity. We are regarded as a monotheist, and yet it seems that Christians believe in three gods, whose names are “Father,” “Son,” and “Holy Spirit.”
The confusion arises because when we talk about the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as “Persons,” we do not mean they are human beings. All three Persons of the Trinity comprise one perfectly unified God, and each Person of the Trinity is distinct and unique.
