“What is the nature of external reality?”

I like the reminder that external factors in society and life in general affects the outcomes and paths that guide education.

Discussing the existence of right and wrong and where these concepts come from stood out to me the most. The fact that humans have a natural understanding of morality indicates that there is a standard.

What is the meaning of human history? From a secular perspective, which was my education model until my master’s degree, human history has no meaning. It just is. The Christian worldview imparts meaning and purpose to human history, and allows the student to see the hand of God at work.

How do we know what is right and what is wrong? As a math teacher, answers on test questions usually have a right answer. It is not very subjective. But even math can be changed based on how it is calculated. For example, PEMDAS is simply the correct way of calculating expressions because at some point mathematicians had to agree on process to ensure we are all talking about the same thing. While I find biblical integration challenging for math, questions like this could be posed to students during a lesson on order of operations and related to moral issues.
