Which one worldview do you feel is most compelling concerning its view of the future? Why?

As a Christian, I have to say that the Christian view as revealed by Christ is the obvious answer.

Monotheism is the most compelling concerning its view of the future. Because it is the belief in one God who through scriptures gives us a complete guideline how to live our lives. The scriptures are full of God’s promises. He has prepared a place for us in Heaven with him according to scripture. This view gives us hope for eternity living in paradise with God. I like that view of the future!

Monotheism – When we die there is hope to spend eternity with God.

Monotheism because I want to be in eternal joy with my Creator

To me, deism, naturalism, nihilism and existentialism offer no hope for the future at all, if this material body is all there is to reality, or if meaning and destiny is unknowable or must be subjectively created (imagined rather, in my opinion, according to these views). Monotheism and pantheism seem to offer some kind of eternal future to work towards. On closer examination, the pantheist ‘hope’ to become one with the soul of the universe is to have oneself nullified, and is more tragic than hopeful at all. Monotheism remains as having some conceivable hope for the future. Yet the means towards that future – obeying the Torah of Judaism or the Koran of Islam – is so futile, humanly speaking, and defeats the offered hope too. In the final analysis, Christianity – which teaches justification by Jesus’ blood, sanctification by his Spirit, and glorification by his return – is the most compelling in its view of the future.
