The two worldviews today that are most influential in explaining origins are monotheism and naturalism; monotheism believing that there is a creator that designed everything and naturalism believing that everything came into existence billions of years ago via a random cosmic event. These are the subject of debates in many circles.

In the USA the two that stand out the most are monotheism and pantheism.
Globally, monotheism is the most influential if, for no other reason, because of sheer numbers. Monotheists make up a significant portion of the earth’s population and are predominant in many countries. The US has had Christianity deeply rooted in the culture from its earliest days – not always dictating things, but always influencing the direction of law and society. That influence from the past remains today, along with a large portion of the population that would identify with any of the three monotheistic faiths.
Pantheism has been growing in influence in the US. There are a number of factors, including immigrants from pantheistic cultures, people with bad experience of or feelings towards monotheism, and the influence of most celebrities and media outlets subtly or overtly spreading pantheistic (mostly through New Age) ideology. -

I believe that the monotheism and naturalism are the most influential worldviews used to explain origins today. The monotheism religions explain an order to creation origins. Many people want to believe that their origins begin with a superior being. They don’t want to believe that their origins started with the primates. Many people on the other hand are influenced by the scientific viewpoint of evolution that begins with nothing and evolves through natural selection .
