Whom have you known who has struggled with unanswered prayer?

I believe that at one point or another, we all have struggled with some type of unanswered prayer. Praying only the will of God for one’s life or effectively praying for others is a learning process. It takes time, practice, and discipline and it is not just automatic. Prayers can go unanswered for numerous reasons. I have wrestled with this myself a lot early on and even now to some degree. I still don’t fully understand why people ask for answers to perfectly reasonable things (like healing from sickness) and yet it seems their prayers go unheard. It clearly lines up with God’s word to pray for and expect healing, but I now also clearly know that healing doesn’t always come to us on this side. Sometimes it is an eternal healing through death that God sees fit to allow. Unanswered prayers are frustrating but should not discourage us. “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart (Proverbs 3:5)” regardless.

Me. I am still praying for a car and a permanent fulltime job.

I have known people in my church who have struggled with unanswered prayers having some hard family problems. I struggled myself.

I think that we all struggle with this. My mom comes to mind the most. She struggled with pain every day nearing the end of her life. I struggle with that every day.
