Whom have you known who has struggled with unanswered prayer?

I have known and know people who have struggled with unanswered prayer – mainly to do with health issues and the death of loved one.

A close and long-time friend struggles with an unanswered prayer. He and my husband pray about it together almost every week. Still, no response from God. I wonder if God’s answer is in the silence?
On the surface our friend’s request is reasonable and seemingly according to God’s will. I’ve often wondered to myself why God has not yet answered. Our friend has prayed over 10 years.
Now though I plan to shift my focus in two ways:
1. I must simply acknowledge that I don’t know what God is doing; but that His infinite love and immense mercy is in the silence;
2. Pray for our friend’s perseverance. In his praying, there is the mustard seed of faith— faith that God can use to move mountains! Perhaps the specific mountain in our friend’s life will remain, while at the same time other mountains in and around him crumble to dust. -
Colleen, prayed for her long suffering from the lawsuit. Prayers for her brothers addictions to be removed.

My mother. She has been praying for my autistic brother to get help, specifically an education. He is 55 years of age and has never been to school. My mother now has dementia and I’ve been trying to get help for him, but it is so hard. Sometimes I wonder why God hasn’t opened doors for my brother to get help. On the other hand, I will continue to trust because I know God does everything in his own timing. Maybe my brother would never get the special education he requires and I will trust that God knows why and what is best.
