Revelation is filled with symbolism and no time reference, so it’s not clear when the events are to occur. It was not written to inform us of when, but rather to caution us to be prepared and ready at all times.

because it hold many answers to how our earthly existence will end, while it is still greatly debated within the church

Revelation attracts people because it offers answers of what has happened, is to come, and the end of history and this world. It’s confusing because it contains both symbolism to express literal events. I think we obtain an overall sense of God’s plan in time.

It describes things we have not seen or will see. We don’t have a definite time for when the end will happen, but there are clues and man is curious about that. Because the text is written in pictures, it is not always clear how things will happen just that they will.

People are drawn to Revelations because it tells us of what is to come and shares the darkness that we will experience. People are confused by it because because of its use of symbolic language. It cannot just be read literally.
