I think most people want to know how it’s all going to happen. It’s literally a book about the future. It has descriptions of Heaven and God’s thrown. It has details about how God will destroy the devil and conquer all evil. Who wouldn’t want to read it? But when we start reading it, we quickly realize it is not an easy book to read or understand. The descriptions are like nothing we’ve ever seen or even imagined. It’s full of action and details that are really hard to follow. Some of it is downright scary. I’ve never taken a class on the book of Revelation. I used to be too scared. Now my understanding of God and my relationship with God is stronger and I want to study it. It’s going to happen, it is part of God’s plan and I want to have a better understanding for myself and to encourage others.

Just like a good movie, Revelation is filled with symbolism, destruction, and redemption. Those features draw us into stories and combined with some mystery of things yet to come, our human nature cannot help but be drawn into Revelation. While some parts of Revelation are challenging to understand, there is great value in studying the book as we can grasp the overall message of it and see the Lord in His glory through John’s vibrant descriptions of his visions.

I would say that people are drawn to the mystery of it and confused by the heavy amounts of imagery in it. With studying it, we can gain a better understanding of Jesus and his redemptive plan for us.

Many people are drawn to the book of Revelation because of all the imagery and mystery, which can seem like a sci-fi movie perhaps. We are all curious as to how the end times will play out, although the much of Revelation can be confusing to understand and interpret. As believers, it is important to know and be ready for when Jesus might return – not knowing the time but recognizing the season perhaps.

We are drawn to it mostly because everyone wants to know, “What will become of us as humans on this planet?” We are confused because the answers in the book “Revelation” are written in a figurative language, which come off as insulting. With proper commentary of the language in the bible, the messages can be deciphered and revealed. We can learn how to prepare for the end and even how to escape the destruction of this system of things by understanding the message.
