Why are people drawn to the book of Revelation and confused by it? What might be the value in studying it?

It’s tough to read because it’s crazy imagery throughout the whole book and honestly picturing myself experiencing Revelation coming to fruition is scary. There’s a draw to this book especially because it’s something people can look for signs for it to happen. There’s confusion because it’s going to be a time where God’s power is revealed in a way that’s obvious and beyond our understanding. There’s value because it brings urgency. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for that day to come because I want to reach more people. Everybody needs to hear the Gospel and the everlasting life they can have through Jesus Christ.

It is how the book was written. God uses symbolism, yet it is valuable to study because it’s a prophecy, and surely it will happen just as God stated it.

People are drawn to Revelation because it is the part of the Bible that is yet to be fully fulfilled. This is the part of the story that we are experiencing and have yet to experience. Additionally, the symbolism makes it mysterious and confusing because we have to work out its meaning. Revelation should be studied because it gives us hope and assurance that God’s plan is being worked out for God’s glory, and has also already been worked out for good.

People may be drawn to the book of Revelation because it discusses the end times. It may be confusing because it is written figuratively and apocalyptically. The value in studying Revelation is to learn about God’s concern for the spiritual welfare of His people, His unlimited and eternal glory, His anger over sin, and His ability to conquer sin.

I think people are drawn to it because of its interpretation and also because we are curious people of what is to happen in the end times. It’s confusing because of the interpretations and meanings behind each of the symbols.
