There is a massive amount of mystery in a book that is full of prophecy yet to be fulfilled. Every other book of the Bible is history, it is prophecy we can see has been fulfilled, and it is time stamped with dates in the past. Things yet to come can be scary, particularly when there is so much of Revelation with powerful imagery and details left to interpretation. God gives us the full picture, but the details are blurry, and that can be scary.

It is hard to understand and decipher the meaning of the imagery.

I know many who use it for bible prophesy but that can lead to confusion. But like it said in the lecture, it’s to know God better.

I think people are drawn to the book of Revelation because of the imagery. They might be confused by it because unless the person is filled with the Holy Spirit and understands the context during the time it was written reading it will be confusing. The value in reading it to those who have understanding will be a blessing. They will be blessed by knowing that God will ultimately triumph over evil, there will be justice and judgement, death and hell will be destroyed in the lake of fire, all things will be made new including the Heavens and the Earth and our bodies. Also, we will dwell with Christ on the new Earth of righteousness forever with a body like His.

There is just so much to unpack in the letters and revelation, and the imagery alone is hard to grasp in one’s imagination, which is why studying Revelation is so necessary to grasp the vast wealth it contains of God’s purpose and value in our identity in Him.
