People are very curious about the events of the end times and the imagery is very fascinating, but also very confusing. Studying helps you get a glimpse of the amazing power of God and how the final victory will be accomplished.

The book of Revelation is so descriptive and speaks to our imagination, while at the same time, the events it speaks of are so horrifying to realize what is to come. I think it’s difficult for us to reconcile in our minds. The value in studying it is because it is a continuation of GOD’s letter to us and we must know this to complete our view and reverence of GOD. In the end, the book of Revelations shows GOD’s victory over evil and sin, and the blessings we have as believers in Him, in the saving work of His Son, JESUS CHRIST, and the power of His HOLY SPIRIT.

Most people love to see powers that are greater than themselves. It is human nature to look at catastrophic situations. It also appears to me that much like mankind during Noah people will still not be tuned into how different and insignificant we are against God’s wrath. John saw in a vision the hopeless state of man; and that is when he saw the significance of Christ and the work He did on that old rugged cross. That is when he was told and believed that there were no need in crying; but a time for rejoicing for those who believe.

People are drawn to the book of Revelation because of the curiosity of how this world is going to end. Many people are confused by Revelation because they rush through the book and don’t take the time to study it and do a little research to help them understand on the readers level of understanding.

People are drawn to Revelations because (1) they want to know how it all ends, (2) what do all the symbols and poetry mean, and/or (3) they want to know how all the pain and suffering the martyrs will go thru will pay off. Therefore, the value in studying it comes in seeing Christ’s inevitable plan for inevitable victory; something we can be assured of BECAUSE God has proven He is God thought all of time.. including into the future and beyond.
