It is the vision of what is to come. The imagery in the book is confusing and filled with many symbols. Understanding this gives us a better understanding of heaven and what it will look like when Jesus returns.

I think people are drawn to the book of Revelation and confused by it because of its writing style. Revelation is written in a highly figurative and apocalyptic literary style that includes many symbols and makes references to the Old Testament. I think the value in studying Revelation is the wealth of information contained in the book. Restoration speaks of restoration and consummation of all things, an end of redemptive history, a bringing of closure to conflict, and tensions throughout Scripture.

People are drawn to the Book of Revelation because of its elements of prophecy and wonderment of events that will take place before the new heaven and earth are revealed. It is worth studying both as a warning and as a hopeful Tool to aid in our own walk with Christ.
