Mankind is drawn to Revelation because we want to know the future. We are confused by it because it has many symbols that don’t seem to be able to understand at a cursory reading. If we undertake a deeper reading with the aid of the Holy Spirit and writings from theologians, we can get a better understanding of what Jesus revealed to John. By reading and studying Revelation, we can see the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan for those that have faith in Him.

As mortal beings, we have a deeply-felt need to know our fate and be secure about our future, hence the popular interest in Revelation. Unfortunately, the temporal and cultural gap between us and John, as well as our own sinful nature, can obscure the meaning of the text. There is still great value in studying Revelation as it reveals to us the contours of God’s ‘end-game’ for the world, including how He plans to deal with sin and death for good.

People want to know when Jesus is coming back! the promise of being with Christ in paradise again is so good. Confusion I believe is due to the writing of a man from the past seeing things of the future.

After the death of Christ and then all of the disciples, what will be the future of the church. Luckily for us John wrote the book of Revelations. This book outlined the future of the church and all of mankind. In the book it tells of the promise of Christs reward. What terrible devastation will be upon the earth, the wrath of God, the antichrist, the final destruction of Satan and finally the new heaven and earth.

Drawn to it by intrigue and curiosity into the end times. Confused due to symbolism. Value through interpretation.
