Why are people drawn to the book of Revelation and confused by it? What might be the value in studying it?

People may be drawn to it because of the visions and future proclamations. The confusion can come because it’s not clear when all of this comes about – presently or in the days to come. That’s not left up to us to understand. The promise is eternity with Christ in Heaven if you know Jesus!

I am drawn to the book of Revelation because it has so many marvelous images within it. The best part about it to me is that it shows how it all ends – how evil is defeated once and for all, and we will all live in eternity with our Father. Some of the things that happen could be confusing if you just read it and don’t have a study guide or something to aid you in understanding it. The value is knowing the ultimate ending – eternity.

I am drawn to the book of Revelation because it is prophetic, because it fills me with hope that there is an end to the suffering, and the promise of a heavenly destination in my future. I start getting confused when I start trying to decipher the time line and asking myself, “How much of this has already occurred, is occurring, and is yet to occur?”. However, I know there is value in studying it because it is promised in chapter twenty-two, verse seven.

The visions in the book are fascinating and scary at the same time. It gives tremendous comfort that God wins in the end and evil is gone forever and we will live in God’s presence for eternity.
